It's no secret that approximately one of twenty applicants is accepted as a Di Pietro driver. You may be asking why one particular applicant is chosen over other applicants.

"The Di Pietro driver has a certain spark" says Neal Cronic, Corporate Director of Safety and Compliance for Di Pietro. One of Neal's duties is to establish the hiring policies for Di Pietro. "The successful driver applicant exhibits an inherent ability to fit in with our team." Neal explains that a positive attitude, a solution oriented mindset, customer service priorities, and a certain amount of determination give the applicant a better chance.

The Di Pietro team is a functioning group. "Kind of like its own town" said Neal. "One of the reasons that Di Pietro provides such great service to its customers is that we have such comraderie amongst our drivers, mechanics, and staff."

Application Requirements.

• To qualify as a Di Pietro Driver Candidate You Must:
  
• Be at least 23 years old and possess a valid class A CDL.
  
• Recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience or have attended and recently graduated from a Di Pietro approved truck driver school.
• Meet DOT requirements.
• Have a verifiable work history.
• Pass a DOT physical and a drug screening.
• Have satisfactory driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years, and be free of DWI/DUI convictions within the past 5 years.

Low Turnover at Di Pietro.

At the time this page was written, no drivers have left, been fired, or retired for at least the last month and a half. This is exactly why we don't have a wholly owned subsidiary for hiring and recruiting.

Trucking Schools

Di Pietro works with both public and private schools. Di Pietro offers a tuition reimbursement program to qualified drivers.

In commercial schools we have found two in particular that we are happy to recommend. South of Metropolitan Seattle we recommend CDS(Commercial Driver Services) and to the north we recommend Check Ride Driver Training.

In Community College programs, South Seattle Community College has a strong and in-depth program.
